This session got me all teary eyed, and I will admit that I could not keep my tears a secret. When you feel the ache of wondering if you might hold the miracle of life in your arms, only to find yourself singing your little one to sleep, such a moment humbly speaks to the beauty and longing that is life. Our hearts constantly full of all that could be, as we were made to long for this kind of joy, yet ever constantly battered with the agony that comes in brokenness. So much so that when we do experience a longing fulfilled, our hearts can do none other but rejoice in overwhelming awe and gratitude. And though we know life will not be lived in such a constant state of jubilation, we can remember that our hearts were made for this, and what we know in part will someday be known in full, so long as walk in the way that will sustain us.
