We don’t have boys, although people tell me that it’s not the same as having girls. Not even close. And while I believe them, I find it so refreshing, and perhaps reassuring, when coming across well mannered little men. Certainly this is not to say that all boys are the same, and while one has a more steadfast disposition, another might be far more mischievous – and all in the same household. Though in this session I found it so beautiful that this mama is fully living in her three boys (plus husband) kind of world. Firm, gentle, strong, and patient all at once. As though she were made to raise boys, or better yet, she has found it a gift to be their mother. And when you see the little lives bestowed to you as a gift, you may indeed raise your voice from time to time or press into other mamas of little men for wisdom, but you are far more willing to embrace all that is required of you. So here’s to boys. But more than that, here’s to the mamas who raise them and remind them that life begins at home.
