A NOTE FOR YOU, MAMA
Given all the accomplishments that women have made in the context of our recent history, merited by equality in areas of education to combat, there is much that we can celebrate as we consider what it means to live and work as a woman in this countries shifting freedoms. Yet there has remained, in the course of all human history, a privilege that has brought blessing even to the oppressed.
The chance to be a mama.
Mother’s Day may carry its share of burden, from childhood hurt to the longing of a womb, and with that, motherhood itself is vexed by a movement that would exchange a new generation for other desires.
Yet this day can still serve to remind us that motherhood is a gift. One in which we celebrate the beauty, the strength, the intentionality that motherhood has unearthed in you. While life undoubtedly has you pulled in a plethora of directions, there is such depth in your role as a mama to which no other responsibility can match. The very essence of you is literally being poured into another life. Your story does not diminish, even as your flesh undoubtedly will, but endures as an inheritance.
Perhaps though, as we may have well discovered in our own mama hood journeys, such an outpouring may mean that we all too easily neglect tending to and celebrating our own selves and the women that surround us.
Yes, we have Boss Babe events and Women’s Leadership Conferences throughout the year, but then along comes Mother’s Day that familiar Sunday in May. Where spa certificates are a most well received and rejuvenating gift, and a girls night out gladly welcomed. Though even in these we are not intent on celebrating women as mothers… just honoring that mothers need a break.
This day of Petite Sessions cannot sufficiently tend to the ways in which you need to be both celebrated and supported, although I do hope that every session will lend to each of you a moment to find immense contentment in your role as a mama.

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD.
Let’s start with your photography session. A “petite”, 20 minute lifestyle session at Mod Stitch Co. in Yorkville, Illinois with you and your little loves. In that time we will capture each of you together, whether you have one child or five, as well as aim for portraits of you with each individual child.
By the morning of Mothers Day, you will find in your inbox a fully downloadable online gallery with 15-20 photographs, both in color and black and white.
THIS IS WHERE IT GETS EVEN BETTER.
If you haven’t already stepped inside the doors of this dazzling boutique, you are in for a real treat. Meg, owner and curator behind Mod Stitch Co., has brought to her beloved town a locally curated boutique with modern styles, mindful self-care products, and handcrafted home decor.
To top off this pre-Mother’s Day treat, we invite you to stay after your photography session to sip on wine and shop with your session package included $25 Mod gift certificate.
Wine and shopping.
Just wanted to make sure you saw that part.
WHAT ARE THE SESSION DAY DETAILS?
Sessions will be held the morning of April 27th.
This is the Saturday two weekends prior to Mothers Day. (Holding sessions on April 27 will allow me to deliver your gallery to you by Mothers Day Weekend.) Sessions will be held within the timeframe of 10-Noon, with bookings available on a first come, first serve basis. Simply select your specific 20 minute session time below upon paying your $15 session deposit.
All sessions will be held at Mod Stitch Co. located conveniently behind Grace Coffee and Wine at 54 W Countryside Pkwy Suite A, Yorkville, IL 60560.
WHAT IS MY INVESTMENT?
Mamas and Mod Sessions are $230.
SHOULD I ARRIVE BEFORE OR AFTER MY SESSION TO SHOP?
You are of course welcome to enjoy your session in whatever way is most convenient. However, I would suggest staying after your session to shop to eliminate any possibility of a little ones outfit getting dirty and to allow yourself the opportunity to relax with your glass of wine, knowing that your session was a delightful success.
DO I HAVE TO USE MY MOD GIFT CERTIFICATE RIGHT AWAY?
Nope! Your certificate will be made available at the register the day of your session, but if you can’t stay to shop, you are absolutely welcome to return to Mod anytime.
CAN MY MOM JOIN IN THE MOMENT?
Generational photographs truly are of those to be cherished. That may adjust what moments and portraits we are able to capture given the petite time frame, but absolutely Grandma is welcome to be a part of the session time. This will simply increase your investment by $15.
HOW ABOUT DAD?
Absolutely… He’s buying!
Haha, okay so as much as we love Dad, a full lifestyle family session on another date would be the way to go in capturing the relational dynamic of having every family member present. Our petite timeframe is for the purpose of capturing you as a mama with your littles (even if they’re not so little anymore!)
MAY I ORDER PRINTS OR WALL ART THROUGH YOU?
Certainly! Your gallery is linked directly to my professional printing lab which you, or any guests given gallery access, are free to order physical prints through, as well as custom framed pieces. Remember, your session included images are fully downloadable.
